Vital / Android beta

Join the Android beta

Closed test on Google Play. Free. Android phones only.

Vital is built, and now it needs real people on real phones to find what is broken before everyone else does. Join, use it for two weeks, and tell us what you hit.

Sign up for the beta

Use the email address of the Google account you use in Google Play on your Android phone. Google sends the beta invite to that account, so a different address cannot be added.

We save your email, and the tag in the link you came from if it had one, only to tell you about Vital's launch and to see which posts work. Every message has an unsubscribe link.

Signing up does not install anything and does not cost anything. You can leave the beta at any time.

What testers do

About two weeks, a few minutes a day

  1. Sign up

Add the email of your Google Play account above. When the test opens, we email that address a link to opt in on Google Play.

  2. Install and stay opted in

Install Vital from the Google Play test page and keep it installed for 14 days in a row. If you opt out, Google restarts your count, so tell us first if you need to leave.

  3. Use it for real

Log meals, scan a few barcodes, log a workout, look at the weekly recap. Use the parts you would actually use.

  4. Tell us what broke

Email support@vitalmacro.com or use Send feedback in Settings, then About. Say what you did, what you expected and what happened.

Why a beta?

Two reasons

First, bugs. A phone in a pocket finds problems a developer's desk never does: odd screen sizes, a barcode that will not scan, a food entry that looks wrong.

Second, Google's rule. For developer accounts like this one, Google requires a closed test with at least 12 testers opted in for 14 days in a row before an app can be published to everyone.

  • What you get: the app before everyone else, and a real say in what gets fixed first.
  • What you need: an Android phone with Google Play, a Google account, and to be 16 or older.
  • What I cannot promise: a launch date, perks, free Premium, or that nothing will break. This is beta software.

Your data in the beta

A beta account works like a normal account. Your log is saved to your account on Vital's server so it follows you to a new phone. You can export a copy or delete the account in Settings, and the Privacy Policy applies from the first day. There are no ads and no ad libraries in the app.

This website uses no cookies and no trackers. The sign-up form saves your email, and the tag in the link you came from if it had one, to contact you about the beta and the launch, and nothing else.

No Android phone? Vital is coming to iPhone later. Tick "I use an iPhone" on the form on the home page and we will tell you when it is out.
