Who builds it
Vital is built by Oliver Straus, independently. He trains and tracks his food, and he wanted one app for food and lifting that shows where its numbers come from, so Vital shows the source under every food and flags entries that do not add up. Screen time, which usually lives in a phone's settings, sits next to them.
Building started in late October 2026. A person reads the support inbox.
How it is made
AI coding tools are part of how Vital is built. Oliver decides what goes in, tests it, and is accountable for it. Vital itself has no built-in AI in the first release: any AI feature is something you turn on yourself, with your own key or your own Claude or ChatGPT account.
What we hold to
- No invented numbers. Where Vital cannot be sure of something, it says so, on screen and on this site.
- No ads, and no selling your health data.
- You can take your data with you, or delete it, from inside the app.
- No made-up reviews, ratings, user counts or testimonials on this site. When there are real ones, they will be real and attributed with permission.
